There are times when a picture is worth a thousand words. If you're trying to get a feel for the various communities in Boulder County before physically touring them, this may well be one of those times.
We have put together "photo galleries" of 20-25 photos of each of the following communities in Boulder County.
The process of selecting 20-25 photos that will help potential home buyers get a better feel for each of these communities is a lesson in humility. We've tried to cover a sample of older and newer homes as well as buildings in older and newer business districts. We have also included a sampling of older and newer schools because this can be so important to children and families. And because many people move to Colorado because of our outdoor activities, we've included some photos of parks, golf courses, and open space trails within each community.
A couple of important notes on our photos of homes:
- The specific houses and neighborhoods photographed weren't selected at random, but in connection with our stats on home prices (see Local Real Estate Stats). Before heading to Longmont to take photos of "smaller homes," we used our stats and the MLS system to locate neighborhoods where lots of 900-1600 square foot homes were selling at the average Longmont price. As a result, if you're looking at a photo of smaller homes in a newer neighborhood in Louisville, you can legitimately click over to Median Sale Prices and get a good read on what that house will probably cost you at current prices. You can also get a read on how quickly such homes are selling by looking at Average Days on Market, Sold in 2 Weeks or Less, or Sold in 5 Days or Less.
- We tried to take photos of average homes , not exceptional ones. Our goal in putting these photos on line is not to "sell you" on Boulder or Lafayette, but to give you a sense of the communities and housing types that are commonly available there. An exception may be our photos houses in "higher end" and in the "old town" neighborhoods. It is harder define an "average" home in these neighborhoods and it is harder yet to pass up a photo of a some of the outstanding examples in these categories.
